Letter to the Editor:
We all know Cleveland is sanctuary for illegal aliens and that the only way to stop this is to vote out all the commission and mayor.
They try to tell you they can do nothing because it's Federal law, well that is totally false.
The immigration reform law institute crafted a local ordinance to discourage illegal immigration and also conform to Federal law for Valley Park, Missouri. It requires local businesses to sign up for e-verify and use it or lose business license.
The ACLU and the Mexican American legal defense league fund challenged the law in the 8th circuit court of appeals who dismissed the case and reaffirmed the right of local jurisdiction to pass ordinances to discourage illegal immigration.
This ruling follows the 9th circuit court of appeals upholding statewide policies designed to discourage hiring of illegal aliens. The appellate court was puzzled as to why the ACLU even brought the case to them.
So there is only one reason that you compete for work, give food stamps, welfare, and free medical to illegal aliens, the mayor and the city commission, so at election time get rid of them and elect people who have your interest at heart, not the chamber of commerce. It is only going to get worse folks.
