The Tennessee Mockingbird

The Tax Exempt Civil War

by June Griffin

A young lady recently testified before Congress stating the persecutions that her organization had suffered since her tea-party group applied for a 501-c-3 tax exempt status.

Her testimony should be heard by everyone since it was multiplied over and over as record of the tyranny that is exercised by the unelected, ABC agencies which surround the Office of the President. Strong-arming the populace is steady fare for those with little to do except harass the general public who dare to raise a voice against their reign of terror. There is no citizen, from judges to accountants, to beleaguered taxpayers who doesn't fear the news that his taxes are to be audited. This agency is responsible for untold numbers of deaths, incarcerations, suicides, strokes, heart attacks, divorces, while hordes of others merely got their guns and groceries and headed for the hills somewhere in Montana, hoping to eek out an existence in peace.  America, the Beautiful - it ain't.

She further reiterated that not only did the Internal Revenue Service come against her small business, but their partners in crime, such agencies as the BATF and  EPA, forced their way into her affairs. Why? Because she headed a citizen's organization who intended to exercise their liberties and yet gain the benefits of the hordes of other 501-c-3 outfits who benefit by deductions - all running from the IRS and its tentacles.

Let's see here now! This lovely lady needed donations to promote her liberty work. Her donors feared the IRS and at the same time, wanted to "get their money back from the IRS" which was extorted from them by way of the withholding and which largesse was shipped to Washington to the ABC agencies to be dribbled back to the States and Counties to do good for its citizens. Thus the 501-c-3 seemed like a happy highway to carry out this noble task.

However, she faced another foe. She and her friends are climbing in bed with some bad company. The last time I checked, there were 2200 pages in the IRS manual, of 501-c-3 organizations, all trying to "get their money back from the IRS" and do good at the same time. There is no telling how many of the government employees also are members of a 501-c-3 donor club, and I submit that it may be that such fear tea parties because they may be asking some embarrassing questions regarding government employees. Perhaps they may wake up to find that the best way to solve our national crisis is to fire the thousands of ABC agencies' employees and set the citizens free from the high taxes it takes to keep up these employees, their desks, their pencils, their cars, their pensions, and other benefits of "getting a good job with the government." Such tea parties are in a civil war with their fellow tax dodgers.

Tea parties are indeed a threat. Take tax exempt organizations like the ACLU or the Sierra Club, for example, whose best friends are the EPA. After all, their donors, which include fancy judges and lawyers and big insurance companies like Progressive,  also want to "get their money back from the IRS," and they, too,  would like to do good by 'helping out,' while the other hand is covertly marked "TAX PROTESTER."  Who would give money to a non-501-c-3 organization, anyway? You can't just give away your money unless you get the government kickback, right?.

I challenge anyone reading this article to look into the history of those who have been destroyed by such agencies. Take the case of the Indianapolis Baptist Temple, who dared to try to back out of this extortion racket. Their pastor and deacons were dragged onto the street, their school and property confiscated and relegated to the darkness of those who dare to try to escape above-described tyranny. I submit to you that it is dangerous to try to escape; you might as well try to escape from Brushy Mountain prison or the old Sing Sing penitentiary. They will get even.

This author once knew a man of integrity. He had formerly worked for the IRS and when the agencies demanded that he take the house of a certain widow, he quit his job. He escaped by the skin of his teeth, only by God's mercy and miracle did he  survive. We met him at a home school conference in Texas and he bought a certain song this author wrote. He said it reminded him of an old friend he had known long ago.  Didn't Benjamin Franklin say that America had "forgotten its old Friend?"

To those whose history includes the terror of intimidations, there is a God that judgeth in the earth. Cases are multiplied and the paper mill has been made rich by the mountains of paper demanded by the merciless multitudes of agents. But the God that spurred David to bring down Goliath still lives. He "hates robbery for burnt offering," and He plainly states that "Vengeance is mine," thus saith the Lord. He will repay.

We do not forget our old Friend. And he has a Son whose Name is Jesus.
