Help needed
I need your help to track down the person removing all The People News newspapers from one of our racks.
People tell me that they like to read The People News because the writing is fresh and uncontrived and the topics reported without influence of views permeating the local main stream media. In plain speak, we tell it like it is without undue concern for who it may offend. Some readers have told me that although they do not necessarily agree with all the paper's content, they respect our right to free speech, are in fact avid supporters and sometimes even contribute with articles or letters. As the saying goes, "they agree to disagree." They don't feel threatened by ideas. Unfortunately, there is a small nucleus in this community that would prefer alternative viewpoints like you read here be smothered by customary conformity and a smiley face. Again in plain speak, they only want you to know what they want you to know. Controlled media and propaganda kept soviet citizens in the dark for decades and that mentality is alive and kicking in Cleveland now.
The People News has pick-up locations all over Bradley County, many being topped up throughout the month for the convenience of our readers. This month it was brought to my attention that one industrious citizen was removing The People News from its rack in the Food Lion Plaza on APD 40 and.... and..... well, I'm not sure what fetish they hold, but they are taking them all, each time the rack is replenished.
I don't believe it, you might say. Why would someone want to do that?
I would like to think our mysterious newspaper freak is papering his bedroom wall with them, or even if he were placing them in a strategic place next to the commode wouldn't offend me, but I believe this villain is doing the deed in an attempt to restrict what you can read. He, or she, doesn't like what we have to say so they think it smart to restrict the paper's availability. A little like stealing political signs. And just a asinine.
I am not going to lament on censorship or US Constitutional rights or complain of unfairness and sour grapes, but believe me I am going to hold them accountable if I can identify them.
This is where your help is needed.
If you see someone removing a large quantity of papers from any of our racks, please note their vehicle tag number and take a picture with your cell phone if you can. You can send it to me by mail or e-mail, or you can call me, and you can do it anonymously if you prefer. My contact information is on page 2 of this issue and at www.thepeoplenews.com
Thanks for your help.
