Letter to the Editor:

This past Veterans Day, a local restaurant (Applebee's) among others, offered a free steak dinner to veterans. (Just bring your I.D. card with you.) Well, l was much too sick that day to go, but the thought came to me... why not call and ask if they would bring the dinner to me at my house?

The lady on the other end of the line said to me that they would be glad to do that and asked me how l wanted my steak to be cooked. A short time later the manager himself brought me my dinner. What a marvelous thing.

l just want to thank all involved in this gesture of thanks. This is just one more reminder to me that patriotism is not dead - especially here in the good old state of Tennessee.
