Concern over illegal immigration
Dear Editor,
Over fifty municipal governments in the U.S. either have or are trying to pass local laws on hiring or renting to or selling to illegal aliens with stiff fines or seizing property. All say they wish they had started a year or two earlier before they got in so much financial trouble.
Will our local and state politicians do what's right for the majority of Cleveland and Bradley Co. citizens, or let the few who are really getting over at the majority's expense. We even have a welcome center for illegals but of course they call it something else. They say no illegals pass through but how would they know, they don't ask for proof of citizenship, it might look like profiling. We have commissioners violating Federal law already, reckon we could get a fair deal from a bunch like that?
Call your local commissioner and demand that they take action. We shouldn't have to punch one for English, if they don't speak English then its a good bet they are here illegally. If the commissioners don't act, then get ready for more taxes for schools, law enforcement, crowded court rooms, and increased violence in your neighborhoods. 250,000 robberies, murders, and rapes are committed by illegals and growing. Do nothing and you will deserve what you get.
Robert Lawson, Cleveland.
