These are very true words as voting for the lesser of two evils only allows that evil to continue on as it holds no one accountable. The time for letting the repuklacans or the dumbacrats or god forbid the corperate(entertainment) media tell us who to vote for is over. For if you have not figured it out yet there is no difference between the establishment repuks and dems they are only there to make you think that you have a choice when in reality you are just recycling more trash!

Wow Valerie sounds like you are another big government socialist or am I mistaken about what you are saying? It sounds like you think that people have some right to these entitlements which really are just a redistrubution (stealing of private property)of wealth. What you fail to understand is the real problem that there is no difference between the establishment dumbacrats and the repuklacans and they only exist to make people believe that they have a choice in who governs them when in reality they don`t. In most cases people vote for the lesser of two evils and that is why we are where we are at today.

Pete it is time to start looking at all these NGOs and Church groups that are heavily involved in local government. They have there minons in elected positions to protect them from the people and what is really fair and just, some of these elected officals are masquerading as conservatives but really are local big government political hacks in the same way that G Bush was also one in the same!

I know the reason most parents let this go on is because they want to show the kid they can't always have what they want. I can understand that. But, what makes me want to punch them in face after pulling all my hair out is how rude and inconsiderate they're being to everyone else around them. They may not mind listening to screaming outbursts, but I definitely don't. And I'm sure 99% of the other customers don't want to hear it either.

And all those little hangars and clothes thrown everywhere are like those little screaming kids. I know I pictured myself on more than one occasion using said hangars like a whip to beat the living daylights out of the disgusting slob that threw them there.

Amen, my retailing sista! You left out a couple things though. Like, when parents just think it's the cutest thing ever when their toddler screams their loudest, high-pitch screams to be heard throughout the entire store and also believe everyone else thinks it's just as cute. My all-time favorite one would have to be when you must inform a customer that you don't have the item they're wanting currently in stock and they call you a liar and insist on talking to your supervisor because they saw the item on the store's website and so naturally the local store always has it in stock. You can just tell these people are filled with the Holiday Spirit!

Comment on Legalizing assisted suicide by dissidentsouthernwoman

Most assisted suicides are not condoned to those who are simply disabled or handicapped. Assisted suicides are mainly reserved for those that have terminal cancer or other terminal diseases and in a severe amount of pain with little to no chance of recovery. To force these people to live in so much pain with no quality of life is what is inhumane. Watching loved ones slowly lose control of their bodily functions to the point of having to remove bladder and colon and slowly lose all muscle control to the point they can't swallow or breathe on their own and watch as their minds slowly disintegrate to the point they don't know any of their family members and go into episodes of psychotic rage and then sit there and tell them they just have to endure it is what is inhumane. Humans have already taken life into their own hands...murderers play executioners providing UNNATURAL deaths to their victims...even our own justice systems in both the U.S. and the U.K. We put people to death for their crimes, but when a person wants to end their own suffering that has no end except death anyway we all of a sudden have a moral dilemma. Yes, God will review our actions and decisions and every ounce of our beings when we come before Him, BUT that is between Him and the Soul of the individual, NOT Him, the Soul, and everybody else. The brutal pain of cancer is not simply a DISCOMFORT and to call it as such is to downplay the harsh realities of all terminal diseases. It helps if you first understand these terminal diseases and the people they affect before making judgments on the limited options such circumstances offer to these people.

This is a joke a friend sent me and I thought it suited the top story of the body scanners in your paper quite well...some may think it's crude but it's still funny! Enjoy!

Things the TSA might be saying:

"Can't see London, can't see France, unless we see your underpants"

"Grope discounts available"
...
"If we did our job any better, we'd have to buy you dinner first!"

"We've handled more balls than Barney Frank"

"When in doubt, we make you whip it out"

"We handle more packages than UPS"

And....

"Only we know if Lady Gaga is really a lady!"

Why do people continue to blame Obama (and every president for the matter) for everything that goes wrong? Do they forget about the big, lazy, bickering group of nimrods that make up something called Congress? If people actually educated themselves they'd know that Congress holds the real power when it comes to decision making. Obama may have Veto power but that only holds if Congress doesn't elect to do the 2/3 vote to override him.

Yes, Obama did make promises JUST LIKE EVERY PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE DOES!!!! The real tragedy is that the people actually believe these politicians are being honest and only doing what's right for the country. HELLO!!!!! They're politicians! Their sole purpose in life is to get elected and remain elected! There's a difference between a politician and a government official! It would be nice if the country was able to fully trust these people, but the sad reality is that we can't. We can't just sit back and believe Congress is going to do what's right. We have to be the monkeys on their backs so they always know who they work for. WE ARE THEIR BOSSES but we're not acting like it. Voting isn't enough we have apply tons of pressure to keep them working for us and not corporate sponsors!

I also think it's humorous that people believe because Republicans have gained some control that everything will be right in the world again. How stupid and forgetful people are!!! It wasn't Democrats in control when the recession occurred. It wasn't Democrats that gave billions of OUR money to banks who gave it to their CEO's for "a job well done". It was a Republican government and no one can deny it! Now, with Obama in office and more Democratic control, the situation is a bunch of toddlers (both Democrats and Republicans) bickering and spending their time and OUR money doing everything they can to halt progress by refusing to vote and demanding more reviews of bills that could possibly help the country, but we'll never know because of the red tape each side is strining up! Now, with Republicans gaining some of the control back, we'll just end up with more bickering, more red tape, more back-alley deals, and more strain on the American people. At the moment, we are not a nation united, we are very much divided and if things don't change, if Congress doesn't grow up and open their eyes it won't be long before we fall...again...harder.

How easy it is to fault a President that you don't like.Actually Obama's economic policies have worked very well indeed. Had McCain have won we would have been way down the tube with no hope of getting back.
Still it looks as if most people agree with you and after Nov 2, the dogs will return to their vomit and the sabotage of government will begin all over again as it did in 2000.America is in for a very hard time. The republicans didn't finish the job in the first 8 years of this century, now they will.

Comment on City will lose Johnston Memorial Park if it’s not restored by chadwick

I sure hope that funds can be found to restore Johnston Park. The neighborhood has changed but the park may be needed more than ever.
Maybe some stimulus money can be found, that would make work and jobs available and of course give the children and the families of that part of town a place to relax and find a sense of community.
By comparison the people of Cleveland spend more on cigarettes
and beer in two days more than it will cost to restore the park.
