For eight years the Clintons (Remember, the nation got two for the price of one) had an excellent opportunity to strengthen the nation's security against terrorism. Instead of doing that, they ranged about the world to the tune of over $500 million dollars spreading "good will" in an eight year long party, and among other things, shamelessly solicited campaign donations of their international supporters for the furtherance of their own imperialistic political aspirations.
During those eight years, the Clintons were only marginally interested in the terrorist attacks that killed hundreds of Americans at home and abroad, after each attack mouthing empty words: "we will bring them to justice." To the FBI's credit, numerous other failures notwithstanding, it brought the Muslim terrorists to justice for their first attack on the World Trade Center, but in a "politically correct," but nationally self-impaling stroke of political subterfuge, the Clinton administration did not seek the death penalty. How utterly inane! When the attacks occurred on September 11th, 2001, the prison cells of those convicted, murdering, Arab Muslim terrorists resounded with rejoicing at the destruction wrought by their successors. Some justice!
Time and time again, the Clintons talked a hard line but walked softly when it came to putting teeth in the law and hands of the CIA, FBI or military resources that were increasingly incapable of protecting the nation's security and sovereignty. The Clintons all the while worked night and day to unilaterally disarm, to hamstring the US capability to fight drugs, crime and the burgeoning threat of terrorism. They gave secret US technology to communist China, they coddled drug traffickers, they hardly winced at attacks against the US then effectively underwrote it with their impotent lip service. The Clintons repeatedly ignored the dire warnings of those with national security experience in favor of advancing their own political aspirations. They were central to the now exploding illegal immigration disaster, that unless stopped will reduce the US to the status of a second rate, third world country as it is bled dry of resources, infiltrated and weakened beyond the ability to act in the national interest.
The Clintons numerous national security debacles are wide and well known but alas, who cares now that they are gone? Except, like the "Trojan Horse," or a bad case of herpes, they are not. President Bush is wrong for remaining silent that it was the Clintons who were responsible for fostering the conditions that made it possible for the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001 to occur. By remaining silent he allows them to build the verisimilitude of credibility which increases their strength amongst those whose political agenda is inimical to the security of the country including: the ignorant, the misdirected and whining liberals who would squander the nation's prosperity, abandon its sovereignty, and would compromise its freedom and liberty. Those would embrace the "globalists," the one world, UN worshipping elitists who once in power would subordinate liberty and freedom to their own virulent political greed for power, wealth, control in the name of security and peace.
If ones own words could hang oneself the following should: "We have relied on a myth of homeland security - a myth written in rhetoric, inadequate resources and a new bureaucracy instead of relying on good, old-fashioned American ingenuity, might and muscle," "The truth is we are not prepared, we are not supporting our first responders, and our approach to securing our nation is haphazard at best," "Somewhere along the line, we lost our edge. We let our guard down." Hillary Rodham Clinton, January 24, 2003.
Thank you Ms. Clinton. Those who paid attention during the eight disastrous years of yours and your husband's administration and the last two years of your current political tenure, absolutely, positively agree--you and your husband fostered and nurtured an environment that made the attacks of September 11th possible and now endangers this nation more than any time in its history.
