The campaign explains, "Our Founding Father's voices are ringing through the corridors of a spiritually demised America with a clarion call that says 'We need God' in America again. II Chronicles 7:14 says 'If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
"Our mission is to declare our voice along with our Founding Fathers and say to those government officials in Washington, DC. … 'We need God' in America again."
The NBC stunt attracted considerable attention, including that of the American Family Association, which urged citizens offended by omission of "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance at the U.S. Open golf championship to flood the network with outrage and demand a better explanation for what it calls a "grossly unpatriotic act."
"Astonishingly, NBC edited the words 'under God' out of the Pledge not once but twice," said Tim Wildmon, president of the AFA.
Noted famed golfer Rush Limbaugh, "I think the lesson here for NBC is if it was an accident, they ought to learn how much this really matters to people. I don't think they really know that."
