Government plans for mandatory health insurance payments, mandatory contraceptive-abortion payments, mandatory promotion of homosexuality by military chaplains, mandatory destruction of traditional marriage and mandatory obeisance to Islamic leaders, highlighted by Barack Obama's bowing, have been a frustration for many.

But maybe not much longer.

A movement has been launched to wake up Americans and especially lawmakers to the fact people are not going to remain silent any longer. In fact, the "silent majority" soon could become the loud majority.

One religious leader, Damon Davis, says he's tired of being "reactive" while watching America's moral values decline, and he is asking millions of America's faithful to join him in being "proactive" by sending a clear message to the country's leaders - "The once-silent majority of Americans are not happy."

"Taking the Ten Commandments off public walls, removing God from our cherished icons and, most recently, the U.S. Air Force removing 'God' from a logo because of pressure from a group calling itself the Military Association of Atheists and Freethinkers makes me want to shout 'What in the world is happening,'" said Davis.

Davis is asking people of faith to join him in sending Washington a message of discontent by adding their name to a growing list of unhappy Americans on a petition to be delivered to Capitol Hill. That list can be found at thisamericanlegacy.org
.

Davis said, "I no longer believe we can simply speak to our nation's leaders about these issues. I believe the time has come for Capitol Hill to hear the roar from their constituents who vote for them in good faith."

As the son of famed evangelical media pioneer, Ray Davis, Damon Davis is CEO of the Legacy Worldwide Foundation located in Atlanta. He and his staff produce Christian television programs that seek to educate, activate and unite people of faith to stand up and be counted for the cause of bringing the Gospel to the world.

Davis recalls the straw that broke the camel's back in his frustration with America's moral decline, led by those he calls the "liberal media" and "liberal elites."

"When NBC removed the words 'under God' from a broadcast of the Pledge of Allegiance during the 2011 U.S. Open golf tournament, that was my moment to be proactive rather than reactive," Davis said.

"I pledge to raise one mighty voice with this petition, and I look forward to personally delivering it to every executive, judicial and legislative branch of government. Persons of great influence have agreed to join me hand-in-hand to do so. I am asking for your help in this righteous endeavor," said Davis.

One such person standing behind his quest to wake up the silent Americans is Jay Sekulow, chief legal council for the American Center for Law and Justice in Washington D.C.

"Like many religious leaders, Damon Davis has a love and appreciation for the history and heritage of this great nation, and his work to support the Pledge of Allegiance - including the phrase 'One nation, under God' - is admirable," Sekulow told WND.

Davis said that lawmakers are often influenced by large outcries from their constituents, and he said that his petition drive is one such "outcry."

His organization, he said, is positioned to "temper a reasonable balance of America's traditional values and those being proffered by a liberal, elitist agenda."

"The uncountable tens of millions of Christian-faithful who follow their religious beliefs and principals - are letting their voices be heard," he said.

"It's time we spread the word aggressively and proactively that it's not just America's economic health that is in grave danger; it is also the health of America's moral values, Davis said. "It's time to prove to Washington that in God We Still Trust."

In addition to his drive to wake up America's faithful, Davis desires to provide special edition American Legacy Bibles to every elected official in the Capitol.

After that, he wants to make them available to every principal, teacher and student in America.

He also wants to provide a camouflage-covered Bible to every member of America's armed forces.

Lastly, Davis desires to use his years of television experience to produce "This American Legacy" to be aired nationwide in the near future.
