I have never noticed as much hypocrisy from the liberal camp as Obama continues his attack on my wallet. First of all, after eight years of George W. Bush being compared to a monkey or a chimpanzee as the least of the insults hurled at him, it occurs to Obama once and there are cries of racism, tasteless, and general crying all around. Wow.
Listen, if Obama is going to write a 775 billion dollar stimulus package while we're in a recession, then he deserves a little criticism for it, even from moderates and slight liberals. Obviously the paper did not mean anything racist by it, and to imply that they did borders on ignorance and could be potentially dangerous.
People cannot go throwing around terms like "racist" every time the president is insulted. He's not perfect, and I don't care whether he's black or white or both - I'm not going to bow down to every stupid move he makes with my money. I'm holding him accountable like I would every other president. Besides, Obama is a big boy. He can take it. Right?
Secondly, the fact that this stimulus package isn't receiving any criticism at all (none that the general media will report, at least - thank goodness for The People News) is boggling. When George W. Bush kept doing this kind of massive government spending, he was rightfully criticized for it, and wrongfully attacked over and over by most media outlets for it. But I guess it's okay for liberals to spend millions "transforming" the government white house, but not to protect our country. It doesn't make any sense to me, but oh well.
Also, it seems that Bush was blamed for things as ridiculous as Hurricane Katrina and that Obama is praised for ridiculous things - like the Steelers winning the Superbowl. It's enough to make me want to vomit.
Well, as socialism keeps rearing its ugly head in the form of government spending and (soon) massive tax increases, I keep wishing and praying for Americans to wise up. Obviously Obama wasn't the perfect end-all be-all of the universe, right? Look what he's done since he's been in office! You know spending hundreds of billions of dollars during a recession in two months of being president is astounding and a sure sign that we're going in a downward spiral, correct? So do not elect this man to a second term!
At least we have 2010… hopefully we can elect more and better Republican or Independent thinkers to the crap of a Congress we have right now. Heck, I'll vote for anyone who promises not to spend billions of dollars on big government.
