Hold That Thought

7 Steps to Greater Health
1. Peaceful living - "Don't let the sun go down on your anger."
2. Proper Exercise - An aerobic yell after class is "ouch"
3. Pure Food - "A bird in hand is bad table manners."
4. Perfect Rest - Early to bed and early to rise makes a man baggy under the eyes.
5. Prayer and fasting - Such times help you revive your spirit on a daily basis.
6. Plenty of  water - Drink water. If you are having trouble getting to sleep, try avoiding caffeine. Drink water.
7. Periods of fresh air and sunshine - Thank God for the sunshine and the rain and that you have the strength to appreciate whatever the day will bring.

What is So Important About Healthful Living?
Healthful living has it's rewards. First, exercise regularly, It gives you increased energy. Some other benefits are lower cholesterol and blood pressure. It strengthens the heart and burns fat faster. It will improve your overall sleep pattern. Also it might help you get into swimsuit shape. Exercise is an effective stress buster, Be realistic. Stress is part of everybody's life. Remembering that you aren't the only one who faces stress will help put issues into broader perspective. So exercise because it re-energizes the body and acts as a safety valve for rolling off internal anxieties.

Aim for a healthful weight. Let the food pyramid guide your food choices. Choose a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol while moderate in total fat. Choose a variety of grains, fruits and vegetables daily. Prepare foods with herbs and use less salt.

Aim for happiness. Just think how happy you'd be if you lost every thing you have right now - and then got it all back tomorrow. "Some people bring happiness wherever they go." Because we will always have some form of sadness in our lives it is important to find healthful ways of handling it. Happiness is like buying an old house. You smile when you look at it and imagine the way it is going to be when you get it remodeled. Keep a positive attitude toward life. Try to relax. Smile a lot. Enjoy life. The difference between life and love is simple. Life is one fool thing after another, and love is two fool things after each other.

Have I Mentioned Healthful Living Yet?
We can live healthfully sometimes by accident. Just daily living of day-to-day activities will benefit our health. "Traditional exercise provides a bigger benefit, but even doing active errands can be good for your heart," says Dr. Richard Stein, an American Heart Association spokesman.

Life is easy if you accept the impossible and bear the intolerable. Healthful living is if:
1. You appreciate one day at a time.
2. You learn that people are more important than things.
3. You discover the value of things that have been around awhile - old friends, old books and old memories.
4. You count your blessings.
5. You praise God.
6. You are thankful for freedom.
