Is it OK for a community leader to verbally abuse a 14 year old girl in the columns of a newspaper simply because they don't like her father and to do it anonymously?
What would be your opinion of such a person?

It is really too bad that I should be writing this about a supposedly trustworthy newspaper and it's editorial staff, but I am am and I'm not amused. The newspaper in question is the Bradley News Weekly and the 14 year old is Jennifer Bowman, daughter of J C Bowman, an accomplished leader in the field of education. Both Jennifer and J C write for The People News which is probably another reason why the Weekly took a cheap shot at her.

Let me tell you a little about Jennifer Bowman from my perspective and then read the advice I have for the Weekly's editorial staff and publisher. Jennifer is one of the the most talented youngsters I have had the fortune to know. She possesses writing ability beyond her years and has won awards for outstanding journalism and literary ability that few adults achieve. She is a treasure that must to be nurtured and encouraged. I am sure God's gift destines her to achieve great things in her life and I have the honor to be a stepping stone for His work.

I have some advice for Susan Shelton, publisher/editor of the Bradley News Weekly and her staff. I will not be pleased if you speak disrespectfully of Jennifer Bowman again.
