Talk Newspaper?

For the past several months, unbeknownst to you,  the reader, this

columnist has been conducting highly secretive beta testing on a concept which may ultimately change the way we receive and view our  news.  Being a veteran of talk radio both behind the mike and between the  speakers I have witnessed the power that persuasive argument bears on such topics as presidential politics and Skin Zinc ("I  don't know why doctors don't have this stuff, but I'm telling you, folks, they  don't!").

Few mediums of communication are as powerful and  form a lasting impression as the print media.  That is why I have decided  to meld the power of the press with the persuasiveness of talk radio into  the new concept of Talk Newspaper.  Here, now, for the first time on the pages of this newspaper is a sample of this powerful new medium:

by J. B. Griffin III.

Colleen from Decatur, GA writes:

"I have a 1996 Honda Accord with a 4 cylinder  engine.  Sometimes after sitting in the sun all day it won't start."

JB writes, "Colleen, does your car have an automatic  transmission?"

Colleen answers, "Yes, it does.  Anyway, as I was going to ask in my first letter if you have any idea what is wrong?  Someone  suggested there might be a problem with the fuel pump and someone else thought  it could be a bad coil.  Right now I am confused as to what to do  next."
JB writes, "There may be good news for you Colleen.  I have just opened a letter from George in Orlando who says he had a Honda with a  similar problem and he thinks he knows what is

wrong with yours."

JB writes, "Go ahead, George."

George from Orlando, FL writes: "Dear Colleen, the weather  here in Florida has been great!  How's everything in Georgia?  Our  orange trees are beginning to..."

JB writes. "George, I don't mean to cut you short, but as space here in the newspaper is limited I have to ask you to get right to your answer to Colleen about her car problem."

George replies, "Sorry.  Colleen, has anyone suggested  that you may have a bad Main EFI relay?"

Letter from Colleen, "No, George, no one has mentioned that  possibility.  What does that do?"

George writes, "I'm not sure what it does."

Letter to Colleen from JB, "The Main EFI relay on a Honda turns on  the fuel pump, the computer and the ignition system when you start the  car.  Honda had a problem with a solder joint on the circuit board in  the relay.  A new one should get you on your way."

Final letter from JB to Colleen, George and, of course,  you, the reader, "Well, that's it for this month, folks.  Be sure and stay with us next for "Jennifer's Corner" with Jennifer Bowman and  after that "Computer Tricks" with Donnie Jenkins.  Until next month this is JB Griffin wishing you a safe and trouble free start to your summer  vacation.  P.S. I have enclosed a tape recording of some "Good-Time Oldies"  so that you may enjoy some bumper music."

Note:  All correspondence was sent via first-class U.S. Mail.
