More Hog Wash
Letter to the Editor:
The elections are over and once again we have a Congress, full of men and women who are dysfunctional. Are you as tired of it as I am? All the mud slinging hasn't stopped, no one is working, and we watch another media circus. When is enough, enough?
Isn't it time the American People put their backs into solving the problem once and for all? Send an email/ text or call your congress person to let them know you aren't going to accept their behavior. You have more power than you know. They can be fired, both Republican and Democratic. Your vote is the firing machine. Tell them you won't vote for them. If you discover they are telling you untruths, fire them. If they pass legislation you don't like, fire them. If you don't think they know math and can't balance the budget, fire them. Your boss doesn't hesitate to fire you, if you aren't doing your job.
Think about this, we have handed the fox the keys to the hen house. We have been silent when legislation has passed for Congress people salaries, their exclusive benefits, their work week hours, their ability to say "NO" to the people. Did we get to approve this legislation? HECK NO!!!!! I didn't vote to give them two thirds of the year off, did you? I didn't vote to give them a great health insurance policy, did you? I didn't vote to give them the right to accept lobbyist's funding, did you? I didn't vote to give them the right to say "no" to getting the job done, did you? Before you cast your ballot in two years, you better make sure you know who is telling you untruths, who isn't doing the job, who is passing legislation to pad their own existance. Look below the surface of the media farce and make an INFORMED choice. Do these people deserve more than you? Do they deserve job security, when you have none? Do they deserve a good healthcare plan, when you have none? Do they deserve a limited work year, when you don't? Do they deserve to feed off of your misery? I don't think they should become fat cats on your bones, do you? Of course not.
You can stop the fox in the hen house. Become informed. Use your technology to better educate yourself. We have wonderful tools to stop this foolishness, to give you the information you need. Stop voting for people who have been in Congress for years and years and think they will never be fired for doing an unacceptable job. Just because you belong to a political group, doesn't mean you have to accept less than what you deserve. Yes, you have the right to clean out the hen house, both sides. Vote for those who can do math, who will protect you and your families, and who don't give lip service without action, just to steal your chickens, your vote. If you look closely, you will see we have open season on our chickens, take away the keys. Protect what is yours, your bones. Get informed.
