This is a stunning development in the midst of a recession. The School Board used the liberal ploy of "Don't let a crisis go to waste" in an attempt to bolster a new tax for the county. This is a manufactured crisis created by the School Board and not by any "Act of God."

The School Board received a check for repairs. Since the school was covered for replacement value it would seem reasonable that if the school was destroyed as claimed, a new building would be under construction by the terms of the insurance policy. The insurance was purchased to pay for repairs or to replace if necessary. This is neither.

The Bradley County School Board should be held accountable for the blatant act. When families are struggling to make ends meet during this recession, the School Board pulls this questionable ploy. Families are having to make do with less and the School Board feels justified in asking for more.

How can we trust this School Board with more resources? We really can't. Right now we could have a completely paid, working, productive school but all we have is an empty lot with a sign on it. Resignations should be demanded for all who participated in this deliberate deception and mismanagement of taxpayer funds.
