We have a tremendous meth problem in the south. Meth labs are "busted" right and left, many of which have young children on the premises when the arrests are made. How many meth arrest mug shots have you seen that were of African-Americans or Mexicans? I do not recall any. They were all of persons of the "White Trash" race.

Recently, there have been a rash of copper thefts, since the price of copper has drastically gone up. The outside central air conditioning units of many homes, as well as many churches have been gutted and ruined by thieves wanting to make a few dollars off of scrap copper, instead of working for a living. Let's face it: Only the low of the low would steal from a church. Who are these thieves? Are they African-American? Are they Mexican? No, everyone I have seen has been of the same race: "White Trash."

Go over to the Bradley County Justice Center to General Sessions Court on any morning of the week. Is it mainly African-Americans in court? Is it mainly Mexicans in court? No, the vast majority is of the same race: "White Trash." Unfortunately, most of them are "regulars" in the court system.

I am in the process of getting out of the rental housing business. In the past two years, I have one house that was damaged so badly it had to be gutted. The stench was unbelievable, and there was dog feces in all of the A/C vents in the floor. Another house was so badly damaged by the tenants, it had to be torn down. A previous tenant in a very nice house plugged the commode and left the water overflowing for three days when they moved out. Part of the hardwood floors had to be replaced, and the rest had to be refinished. I recently evicted some tenants from that same house who were filthy, but had an annual income of over $80,000 a year. When they moved out, they even left their dog behind with no food or water.

Were these people African-American? Where they Mexican? No, they were all "White Trash." Photos are on the page showing how some of my "White Trash" tenants lived. Have you ever seen any blacks or Mexicans living any worse?

Tobe McKenize told me something years ago when he was in the rent to own business I will never forget. Some of his managers had inquired about whether they should rent to people who lived in the housing projects. He told them to go visit their apartment, and if it was clean and neat, to rent to them because they were living there because they had to. However, if the apartment was dirty, not to rent to them because that's where they wanted to be." His wisdom was very true - much can be said about a person by the way they live and conduct themselves, regardless of race or income. Brittany Spears is certainly an example of that. She is certainly an example that the new "White Trash" race is present in all income brackets.

Bottom Line? Those of us in the white race should be concerned with cleaning up our own house instead of dwelling on the problems and actions of some members of the minority races.
